Current Market Conditions…
What is going on with Cabarete real estate when the U.S. housing market and worldwide economy is sluggish to say the least? Is this going to be a good 2010 for the Dominican Republic tourism and property development? How could Cabarete real estate do well when we know it will be another year if not years before the market in Florida and throughout the United States begins to recover?
Some experts in Cabarete real estate development say that the situation in the USA is more severe because of the large number of foreclosures keeping values low! Cabarete real estate is not threatened by foreclosures and as a result the values are stable and may be increasing according to local investors. After all, real estate in the U.S. is selling! There are buyers! Its just 30% to 60% below value because the market is flooded with distressed properties.
Another problem the U.S. has that Cabarete real estate is not subject to is the unaffordable and escalating real estate taxes. Also, homeowners Insurance and the overall cost of living is higher. Medical is actually something Americans can afford to buy if they live here is the Dominican Republic.
Baby boomers are worried about retirement in Florida and everywhere in the United States. Social security benefits without any supplemental income doesn’t provide enough money to pay the monthly bills. The medicare is unpredictable and they really don’t want to end up in a sleazy nursing home spending the last years of their lives in total discomfort.
Could Cabarete real estate be the answer to some of the issues the U.S. citizens are facing? What do you think?
After all, there is no problem or concerns about taxes in Cabarete as long as the value of the real estate in under $150,000! Medicine is far less expensive in the Dominican Republic and the baby boomers may be able to avoid a run-down rest home in the U.S. by living in Cabarete and having a live-in Dominican care for them. That is common here isn’t it? Some elderly folks are doing this now aren’t they? Residents in Cabarete say that we can hire a live in housekeeper/nurse to cook and look after us for about $200 a month with free room and board. Is that true?
Cabarete is a beautiful Caribbean destination and many qualified Caribbean real estate experts say the Dominican Republic is the last affordable tropical island for the middle class to live comfortably. What’s you’re opinion? All of us are looking forward to your comments! Please reply below…
